Sherwood Forest's Splashy Surprise: Temporary Closure Leaves Visitors Disappointed
A popular water ride is about to take a brief hiatus, and customers are not thrilled! Center Parcs has announced that the Wild Water Rapids at their Sherwood Forest resort will be closed for most of June, leaving many guests feeling let down. But is this a necessary evil?
The company shared the news on February 26th, explaining that essential resurfacing work needs to be done in the outdoor area of the Subtropical Swimming Paradise and the Water Piste. This means a temporary shutdown from June 1st to 25th, with the rest of the swimming paradise, including the Wave Pool and Tropical Cyclone, remaining open.
But here's where it gets controversial: Customers took to social media to express their frustration, feeling 'gutted' and claiming that no alternatives were provided. A Center Parcs spokesperson acknowledged the inconvenience, stating, 'We understand the timing is less than ideal, but these improvements are essential.'
Adding to the complexity, this closure comes after a recent incident in December where a 'small number' of guests were injured while riding the Wild Water Rapids. A section of the ride was closed for over two weeks following the accident.
So, is this closure a necessary safety measure or an overreaction? The debate is open, and we want to hear your thoughts! Are you understanding of the need for maintenance, or do you think Center Parcs could have handled this differently? Share your opinions below, and let's spark a conversation!
